Blog Series - Curves around the World - Curvy Plus size Outfits - WEEK #36 NEON

Firstly, apologies this post is late but I thought I would do it anyway. I'll explain more on where I have been in another post.

The theme is neon. Now I don't actually own anything neon. I own bright colourful  pieces but nothing truly neon.

Instead I'm going to show you a few pieces I have found. These are smaller pieces that you can work in to spice up a boring or simple outfit or something that lacks colour. Think a black skater dress or jeans and a plain top. You get the idea. As you know I am a big fan of simple classic outfits but changing them up with different smaller pieces in different styles and colours.

Yellow Bag-River Island   /   Pink Bag-River Island  /     Scarf-Yours Clothing  / Necklace-River Island

I love all these pieces. I already have the nail polish and a very similar watch and I definitely think the scarf, trainers and necklace will be on top of my list to buy!

Which is your favourite piece? Let me know in the comments!

Blog Series - Curves around the World - Curvy Plus size Outfits - WEEK #35 TIMELESS

For this week's theme I thought of a few things. Timeless to me means classics like lace, pearls, the little black dress, classic black heels but I also thought of more casual pieces like jeans, shirts, leather jackets etc are really timeless and won't go out of fashion. Styles may slightly change but they are basically the same.

I am a big believer of wearing what you like and what looks good on you and not whats in fashion. Let's be honest when you look around so many people wear the same things as they are in 'fashion' and it's boring and not very individual. Therefore I really like timeless classics. It's also a great investment as these kind of pieces will serve you for many years and you can change them up to suit the style you are going for.  My advice would be to go for basic classic items that you can accessorize and add other items to to change things up.

This is a timeless smart outfit. Watch out for later in the week when I'll show a timeless casual look.
Classic timeless pieces smart outfit for a special occasion  / Plus size & curvy /  featuring New Look pearl earrings & Dorothy Perkins black lace pencil dress and bow heels and black gold detail envelope clutch
1. Dress - Dorothy Perkins
The little black dress is a total timeless piece and the pencil style never goes out. With the lace detail it's so pretty and adds a little something extra, and let's be honest lace is a total timeless classic. The lace is so well placed it really shows off your figure.

2. Earrings - New Look
Pearls....need I say more? Vintage styles again are a classic. These are glitzy and will totally add some sparkle and class to your outfit.

3. Clutch - Dorothy Perkins
A simple black clutch is a staple for any wardrobe. It goes with everything. Great for smart casual, going out for drinks or for a romantic meal or with smart attire for weddings.

4. Heels - Dorothy Perkins
Oh my gosh I LOVE these! If my ankle wasn't a mess of torn ligaments then these would be on my tootsies! Black heel pumps go with everything to smarten up jeans and a top or to wear with a dress to a smart occassion or a night out with the girls but these will also be great for work. Simple, elegant and easy to go with anything but with just enough detail to make them pretty and not boring.

What do you think? Leave me a comment and tell me if you love this outfit and what your timeless fashion pieces are!

18 fashion rules from Beth Ditto via Buzzfeed

This was too good not to share from Buzzfeed.....

-18 Fashion Rules from Beth Ditto-

We could all learn something from Beth Ditto.

We could all learn something from Beth Ditto.
Beth Ditto has become the queen of punk-rock fashion, but she grew up with little money in rural Arkansas. She told Style.com, ” I couldn’t even really afford good secondhand stuff actually. So I wore a lot of jeans and T-shirts, I was really butch in high school. In Arkansas that was enough to get you beat up.” Beth is now a fashion icon for girls around the world with her fearless fashion choices. She doesn’t just influence fashion, she completely embodies it.

1. Undo the rules.

“I love to break all the rules I was taught as a kid…I was told a lot not to wear horizontal stripes.”

2. You can look good AND be comfortable.
